Right now, our focus is improving the quality of life and medical care at MiMi’s House, a local pediatric respite home.

MiMi’s House is separately owned and maintained by the BC Housing Authority, and care is provided by Thompson Community Services under contract with the Ministry for Children and Family Development..

Accessible Playground

We purchased an accessible playground for the yard play area at MiMi’s House.

Gazebo & Picnic Table

We purchased and built a gazebo for the yard of MiMi’s House and refurbished the wheelchair-accessible picnic table.

Katrina Lavery’s Van

Katrina received pediatric respite care for many years at MiMi’s House.


After Katrina passed away in 2017, her mother Margaret donated their wheelchair-accessible van to CRSS in her honour for future residents to use.

Improvements for MiMi’s House

We purchased several features for MiMi’s House over the years, such as an asphalt walkway, more ceiling tracks, child-sized seating, and an accessible swing.

WestJet fundraiser

WestJet donated two Tickets to Anywhere WestJet Flies for a CRSS fundraising raffle. More than $4000 worth of raffle tickets were sold, and the draw was held at MiMi’s House on December 18.

2010

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Former CRSS President, Charles Card, received a $30,000 donation from Ronald McDonald House Charities in Burnaby, B.C. The funds were used to purchase an ARJO hydraulic bathing system and a posey bed enclosure system.

2007

MiMi’s House Benefit Concert

Organized by Shika Card, the concert fundraiser at Alix Goolden Performance Hall featured performances by Card herself, the Trio Tesoro, and the Victoria High Rhythm and Blues Band.
