Mimi’s House
On October 17, 2003, MiMi’s House, a community pediatric respite home, was opened for children in the Greater Victoria region who have complex medical and behavioral challenges. It was named in memory of a child who passed away suddenly during the difficult period of transition following VIHA’s closure of pediatric respite services at the Todd Unit of the Queen Alexandra Centre in November of 2002.
The residence that has become MiMi’s House was purchased in the spring of 2003 and extensively remodeled in the following summer, with an additional bedroom added to the structure.
Mimi’s House Features
The facility includes four bedrooms, a kitchen, living and dining areas, a utility room, and a specially equipped bathroom.
